Making money from Google Adsense
Google's Adsense is a revolution in online
advertising. it has created an opportunity for webmasters with
content driven sites to make a living from their sites, in many
cases. Many of these sites which were earlier struggling to recover
their bandwidth costs are now bringing in good money.
It's not uncommon to see per click payouts of between $0.08 and
$0.20. IN some cases payouts have been as high as $0.50 per click.
This is gradually spawning a new breed of webmasters who're looking
at creating content rich web sites even as Google
makes it more and more difficult to push cookie cutter web sites and
affiliate oriented web sites.
Adsense is much like Google Adwords which you see on the right hand
side each time you search on Google.
Adsense involves pasting a bit of code into your own web site.
Google crawls your site and displays ads relevant to the content of
your web site. CTRs have been as high as 5 % in some cases.
It's easy to join Adsense. Fill out a simple form and if Google
thinks your site qualifies, you get included. Content is the keyword
here. You need to have rich and original content to survive.
You no longer have to chase advertisers or follow up payments. It
all falls into place as soon as Google approves you.
You just have to copy and paste some html code on each page.
Consider that Google has over a hundred thousand advertisers and you
can be sure you'll have as much advertising as you need.
You can continue to promote affiliate programs on your site even
when you use Adwords.
Google gives you a range of options to customize the look and feel
of the ads displayed. You can add other sites you own after you've
been approved initially. Be careful here though. Webmasters are
known to have added junk sites with nothing but links and later
found their accounts cancelled. Google offers channel or site by
site reporting when you add multiple sites. This gives you the
complete picture about how well which of your sites is doing in
terms of Ad revenue generation.
You can filter URLs of your competitors or of sites you don't want
linked to from your own site via Adwords.
The minimum payout is $100, which seems a little high for some
webmasters but if you stay tuned in to our site, soon it won't be as
high for you.
You have to bear in mind that you cannot discuss Ad sense stats for
your site with anyone else. If you get rejected, you can appeal
again. Also, you may not sell textual ads to others.
Also, sites that want to display AdSense ads may not include "other
content-targeted and/or text-based ads on the pages displaying
AdWords ads." However, human beings review the sites. Rejected sites
have been able to appeal successfully.
Google doesn't tell you how much you're going to get paid but that
isn't really an issue because you get daily stats telling you about
impressions and clicks. Besides the payouts seem to be pretty good
for now.
